Kenneth Hawkey—Paintings
When creating  a piece of art there is a certain thought that can propel me into the beginnings of a piece, that initial jolt of inspiration. From that point,  the work evolves based on what is natural for me, what I have learned both on my own and from outside influences, and surprising right side of the brain occurrences. I work until a feeling of unity is comfortably conveyed.
As the Truro Public Library celebrates its 20th Anniversary by looking at the past, reviewing the efforts made to make change and looking ahead to what is in store, this exhibit is intended to mirror some of those ideals. For this exhibit, I’ve included a selection of work from my portfolio, especially work that grew out of the excitement of my own exploration and discovery.
