Tor Hansen: Identify Resident and Migratory Fauna of the Twine Field Meadows
June 6, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Pond Road’s own naturalist, Tor Hansen, returns to expand on the fauna and the flora in Truro’s Twine Fields. Using his extraordinary photographs, presented in a slide show, we will explore resident and migratory fauna and floral components of Twine Field upland meadow in North Truro. We will learn to identify what butterfly and moth species occur and utilize the natural resources of this important glacial sand plain grassland. Survey includes fauna supported by adjacent Pilgrim Pond and Marsh, featuring Mourning Cloak, Red Admiral, Red spotted Purple, silk moths, smaller hairstreaks, and species of Woodland Edges. Catch a glimpse of amphibians, reptiles, birds, and some mammals too.
