Martin Pring: 1603 Visitor to Truro
The Friends of the Truro Library presents Truro Historical Society volunteer and passionate Truro historian Dan Sanders, who will deliver a talk about Martin Pring on Wednesday, October 10, at 6:00 p.m. Martin Pring spent several weeks in Truro in 1603 as he traveled down the coast from Maine en route to Virginia, carrying out a commercial venture with two ships, 56 men, and two dogs. His account of the journey was relayed in a journal, with significant detail. Dan Sanders will discuss this venture and share a replica of the Speedwell, the commanding ship, as well as native artifacts of the time. This program is free and open to the public. Join us for an interesting evening!
