From a Buick 6—On the Road with Bob Dylan: A Multimedia Presentation by Pete Elman
Pete Elman returns with the story of Bob Dylan’s classic trilogy of rock albums, recorded in New York and Nashville with his legendary backing band, The Band. Through lecture, slide show with photographs, charts and maps, recorded music, film clips, the use of live music, and a brief question and answer session, Mr. Elman will teach us about the poet laureate of rock’n’roll’s first electric music efforts. This was the moment that the kid from Hibbing, Minnesota cemented his legacy as the heir apparent to his hero Chuck Berry as the next great American rock and roll poet. The first album of the trilogy, Bringing It All Back Home, was released in March 1965 and was eventually hailed as one of the greatest albums in rock history. Two more classics, Highway 61 revisited and Blonde on Blonde, would follow, and the rest is history. Join us for a journey on the road with Bob Dylan and The Band.
