Robin Wessman

March 1 @ 10:00 am - March 31 @ 4:00 pm

Robin Wessman is a contemporary realist artist who paints a variety of subjects that have potential for a shared experience with viewers. His still life paintings offer a different view of ordinary objects using humor and imagination to create narratives that challenge the viewer and, often, the viewer’s understanding of space, time and gravity.

His work is fueled by imagination, experience and a continuous drive to create paintings that have the potential to go beyond the obvious and inspire viewers to see more than simply an accurate depiction of the subjects.

Wessman’s technical craftsmanship along with emotion and implied narratives is what makes his paintings unique. Wessman’s paintings are dynamic, their movement and energy intensified by his attention to detail, masterful use of color and the artist’s challenge to his audience to see objects as he does, not as we expect to – at rest –  but from angles and directions to which we are not accustomed.

This wonderful exhibit will be on display for the entire month. The Library would like to extend a thank you to Larkin Gallery Provincetown Director Stephen M. Briscoe who curated the exhibit on Wessman’s behalf. Come and be charmed by this exceptional work!
