Cremation is generally much less expensive than a conventional burial. However, the cremation process requires the use of fossil fuels and produces a variety of air pollutants: carbon monoxide, mercury and dioxin, among others. Returning to our old ways of burying loved ones using green techniques helps to conserve resources, protect groundwater and return bodily nutrients to the soil.
