Free Staged Reading – BESTON
February 15 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Henry Beston’s 1928 book The Outermost House, a vivid account of a year in a dune shack in Eastham, endures as a classic of nature writing. The next year, Beston married the world-traveling poet and children’s writer Elizabeth Coatsworth. Their younger daughter Kate Beston Barnes was also destined to become a successful poet. The marriage of Henry and Elizabeth flourished despite their wildly different writing methods and temperaments, and Kate captured the tensions in the family in her poetry. Beston is a collage for performance of the words of these eloquent writers.
The Truro Playwright Collective is a group of established, local playwrights who present staged readings of their full-length works once a month from October through March.
