Truro Library’s Online Databases for Youth
Look for “K-12 Resources” link on the left-hand side, and for Encyclopedia Britannica on the right-hand side. The Resources link will take you to Gale “In Context” and “Collection” databases (Biography, US and World History, Gender Studies, “Opposing Viewpoints,” Science, and more).

The Purdue Online Writing Lab
The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material, and provided as a free service of the Writing Lab at Purdue. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide will find information to assist with many writing projects. Teachers and trainers may use this material for in-class and out-of-class instruction.

Barrie Public Library’s “Do Some Research” Pages
Great advice and practical guides, including Homework Tips, Primary vs. Secondary Sources, and Bibliographies. Some links are relevant to Canadian students but most of the information works for Americans, too.

Khan Academy
An excellent site to learn at your own pace, with teaching videos and practice work.  It covers almost everything!
