Pond Road’s own naturalist, Tor Hansen, will present a talk and slide show featuring his prize winning photos of fauna and the flora which shape their habitat in Truro’s Twine Fields. He will share opulent photos and discuss the fauna and flora that reside in this remarkable upland meadow and glacial sand plain grassland. His presentation will discuss the significance of these exceptional ten acres for conservation, including why this purchase will help secure water quality for the adjacent Pilgrim Pond. The survey will include photos of resident and migratory mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, insects, and butterflies that utilize this habitat, as well as species once thriving there but now missing, which were present when Hansen studied insects in Twine Field Meadow as a boy.
