TRURO PUBLIC LIBRARY COLLECTIONS

Main Floor

                  

All adult fiction materials are located on the main floor. They are arranged alphabetically by author. This includes large print and audio materials, DVD's and Videos, periodicals and the New Book section.

All children's materials, including Easy Reader, Chapter Books, Elementary fiction, Juvenile fiction and non-fiction. puzzles and games are located on the main floor as well as children's audio books, DVD's, videos and periodicals.

All Young Adult/Teen materials are located on the main floor including fiction, non-fiction, and Young Adult periodicals. Also included in this section is Reference Material relating to College Search and Post-Schooling endeavors.

 

 

                  

Lower Level

All Adult Non-Fiction books are located on the lower level. There is a stairway and an elevator for easy access. Also located on the lower level are tables and quiet study areas.

 

 

            

Periodicals

The library subscribes to a variety of weekly and monthly periodicals. Current newspapers can be found on the reading table in the main reading room; back issues are generally kept for two weeks.  Monthly periodicals are found in the periodical reading room. Back copies are generally kept for two years and may be borrowed.  There are a number of children’s titles available in the Catherine Woolley Children’s Room, and age-appropriate titles for young adults in the Teen Paradise alcove.

 

Large Print

The large print material collection of both fiction and non-fiction is located in the back of the stacks in the main reading room. Recent acquisitions are located in the new book section.

 

                 

Puzzles and Games

Puzzles and games may be borrowed for a two-week period. There’s always a jigsaw puzzle out on a table in the main reading room waiting for you to sit down and place a piece or two!

 

New Book Section

The new book section is located on the main level opposite to Circulation Desk.  This section contains both fiction and non-fiction materials acquired during the past six months.

 

“Teen Paradise” Young Adult Alcove

“Teen Paradise” is an alcove off the main reading room where teens can sit comfortably and use the library facilities.  There’s a collection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as a number of age-appropriate audio and video materials and periodicals.  Information on colleges and post-secondary vocational schools is also found here.
