STARGAZING
WITH PAUL CEZANNE
Tuesday, August 12, 7:00 PM
Truro Public Library
Join us for an illustrated
presentation by astronomy buff and Truro resident, Paul Cezanne, followed by
stargazing on the library deck.
Paul Cezanne has been interested in the stars since he was a small child; he still remembers standing in his backyard in Pennsylvania and gazing up at the sky, wondering where the Andromeda galaxy was (and not finding it), and watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. A few other things got in the way--high school, MIT, earning a living as a software engineer, and frankly, light pollution -- but a few years ago
while living in New Hampshire, he realized that he was surrounded by dark skies and really caught the astronomy bug. He became part of a very active astronomy society, subscribed to relevant magazines, read the important books, and kept looking at the sky, something he's continued to do since his move last spring to North Truro. He's now active with the Cape Cod Astronomical Society, and you'll occasionally see Paul on a weekend night over on MacMillan Wharf, inviting passers-by to "come see the moon!"
